💬 10 Câu hỏi Part 3 + Model Answers

Topic: Technology & Society

Q1: Do you think technology has made our lives better or worse?

🟢 Explain: I’d say technology has largely made our lives better, mainly because it’s made so many things more convenient and efficient.

🟡 Example: For instance, we can now communicate with anyone in the world instantly through video calls, which was unimaginable just a few decades ago. Similarly, access to information through the internet has democratized education.

🔵 Extend: That said, I do think there are some downsides, like social media addiction and privacy concerns. But on balance, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks.

Useful phrases: largely, unimaginable, democratized, on balance, far outweigh

Q2: How has technology changed the way people work?

Technology has completely transformed the workplace in several ways. Most obviously, remote work has become much more common — people can now work from anywhere with a laptop and internet connection. For example, during the pandemic, millions of people switched to working from home almost overnight. Beyond that, automation and AI are changing the types of jobs available, which means people need to constantly upskill. I think this trend will only accelerate in the coming years.

Topic: Education

Q3: Is it better to learn from a teacher or learn by yourself?

That’s an interesting question. I think it depends on what you’re learning. For subjects that require structured knowledge, like math or science, having a teacher is generally more effective because they can explain complex concepts and correct your mistakes immediately. However, for practical skills like cooking or photography, self-learning through YouTube tutorials and practice can be just as effective. Take programming, for example — many successful developers are completely self-taught. So I’d say the best approach is probably a combination of both.

Useful phrases: it depends on, structured knowledge, just as effective, the best approach is a combination

Q4: Do you think the education system needs to change?

Absolutely, I think education systems in many countries are quite outdated. The traditional model of memorizing facts and taking exams doesn’t really prepare students for the modern workplace, which values creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. For example, in my country, students spend years memorizing formulas but rarely learn practical skills like financial literacy or communication. I believe schools should focus more on developing soft skills and teaching students how to learn, rather than just what to learn.

Topic: Environment

Q5: What can individuals do to help the environment?

There are quite a few things individuals can do, and I think even small actions can make a difference when enough people participate. For instance, reducing single-use plastic by carrying reusable bags and bottles is something everyone can do easily. Similarly, choosing public transport or cycling instead of driving helps reduce carbon emissions. On a larger scale, people can make more conscious choices about what they buy — supporting eco-friendly brands and reducing food waste. Of course, I think government policy is more impactful than individual action, but it all starts with awareness.

Q6: Do you think environmental problems will get better or worse in the future?

To be honest, I’m cautiously optimistic. On one hand, climate change is clearly getting worse, and we’re already seeing the effects with extreme weather events and rising sea levels. However, I’ve also noticed that there’s growing awareness and more investment in renewable energy and sustainable technology. For example, electric cars are becoming much more affordable, and many countries have committed to net-zero targets. So while the situation is serious, I believe that if governments and businesses take decisive action, we can still make significant progress.

Useful phrases: cautiously optimistic, decisive action, significant progress

Topic: Health & Lifestyle

Q7: Why do you think some people have unhealthy lifestyles?

I think there are several reasons. Firstly, many people lead very busy lives — they work long hours and simply don’t have the time or energy to exercise or cook healthy meals. It’s much easier to grab fast food than to prepare a nutritious dinner after a 12-hour workday. Secondly, there’s a lack of education about health in many communities. Some people genuinely don’t know how harmful certain habits are. And thirdly, unhealthy options are often cheaper and more accessible than healthy ones. For example, a salad usually costs more than a burger at most restaurants.

Q8: Should governments do more to promote healthy lifestyles?

I definitely think so. While personal responsibility is important, governments have the resources and authority to create environments that make healthy choices easier. For instance, they could invest more in public sports facilities, implement sugar taxes on unhealthy drinks, or require clearer nutrition labeling on food products. Some countries like Japan have very effective public health programs — for example, mandatory health check-ups for all employees. I think this kind of proactive approach is much more effective than just telling people to be healthier.

Topic: Culture & Society

Q9: How important is it to preserve traditional culture?

I think it’s extremely important, but it needs to be balanced with progress. Traditional culture gives us a sense of identity and connects us to our history. For example, traditional festivals, crafts, and cuisine are what make each country unique. Without them, I think the world would become quite homogeneous. However, I don’t think we should preserve traditions blindly — some cultural practices may be outdated or even harmful. The key is to keep the positive aspects of tradition while being open to change and modernization.

Useful phrases: a sense of identity, homogeneous, preserve traditions blindly, the key is to

Q10: Do you think globalization is a good thing?

That’s a complex question with no simple answer. On the positive side, globalization has created enormous economic opportunities, improved access to education and healthcare, and allowed for incredible cultural exchange. For example, I can sit in Japan and learn from a professor at MIT through online courses. On the negative side, it has led to growing inequality, cultural homogenization, and environmental damage through increased trade and travel. So while I think globalization is largely positive, I believe we need better policies to ensure its benefits are shared more equally.
