Netflix has launched a cheaper plan with advertisements , and it costs only $6.99 per month. The company lost many subscribers last year, so it decided to change its business model .

The new plan shows ads before and during movies, but each ad is only 15 to 30 seconds. Some content is not available on the ad plan because of licensing agreements. Netflix has said that the ad-supported plan has already attracted five million new users.

The streaming market has become very competitive because Disney+, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime all offer similar services. Netflix has also cracked down on password sharing, so users can no longer share accounts with friends for free.
